
Joanna Bowers
Director
Joanna made her directorial debut in 2009 after graduating from the University of Leeds with a BA in Broadcast Journalism with the BBC. From writing and directing cabaret performances in Dubai to creating content for networks including MTV in LA. She began her directing career unwittingly when asked to direct the short film Inviolate Rose. This was quickly followed by other directing work including TV pilot Riding Hoods; All Rhyme, No Reason and a range of other commercial, fashion and narrative projects. She now lives in Hong Kong working as a writer and director creating original content filming throughout Asia. Recent shoots for brands including Cathay Pacific, HSBC and The North Face. Her most recent venture is The Helper Documentary, currently in post-production.

Tony Verb
Producer
Tom’s career began in London where under the mentorship of legendary directors like Run Wrake he created sequences for award winning films, ground breaking music videos and global ad campaigns. Having proven himself amongst the best he was soon encouraged to direct his own work. Since founding Treacle, he has created stunning animation for myriad multi-national clients, such as; Amex, Cathay Pacific, Disney and the BBC. Tom consistently makes sure that Treacle supports causes that his team feel passionately about, creating spots for charities and NGOs like AIDS Concern, Hong Kong Shark Foundation and Pathfinders. Working on The Helper Documentary has given Tom and his team the opportunity to bring their passion for positive social change to a global audience.

Nicole Chamberlin
Producer
Nicole Chamberlin, Producer. Nicole is a media and entertainment producer with a specific passion for projects that affect social change, help bring awareness to important issues and ultimately create a positive impact. She has supported a wide variety of projects, from scripted television and reality television to independent films and live events. In addition to helping make The Helper Documentary a reality, she is also producing for the Gender Identity Project and upcoming music and arts festival Clockenflap.

Josie Mitchell
Josie is a passionate producer who specialises in animation and post-production. Originally from the UK, Josie has clocked up over seven years in Asia, having lived and worked in both Thailand and Hong Kong. As part of the Treacle team, Josie has worked with big names like Disney and the BBC, whilst also dedicating her time to projects that tackle social issues such as award-winning PSA’s for AIDS Concern and Hong Kong Shark Foundation. She is also the Community Director for PLUG, an arts and community magazine for the HK LGBT community, and as Co-Director for Pink Season, an annual 6-week program of events designed to increase awareness and inclusiveness for the local LGBT community.
